Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya said in Parliament today (17) that three committees have been established to tackle potential economic challenges arising from the ongoing war in the Middle East. Measures to implement the committees’ recommendations are already underway.
Speaking in Parliament, the Prime Minister said that one committee will focus on ensuring the continuous provision of essential goods and services to the public while managing related operations.
A second committee has been tasked with overseeing the maintenance and management of public services, she added.
The Prime Minister also said that a third committee will specifically address the country’s energy requirements, ensuring supply stability during this period of uncertainty.
