The government has announced plans to modernize 25 technical colleges across Sri Lanka, aiming to strengthen vocational education and youth development.
The decision was taken during a special discussion in Parliament, chaired by Minister of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education, Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, along with Deputy Minister of Vocational Education Nalin Hewage.
The modernization initiative will not only enhance vocational training but also focus on supporting the mental health and overall welfare of young learners.
Deputy Minister Hewage stated that development work at 23 technical colleges is expected to begin shortly. He emphasized that these upgrades will help cultivate the skilled human resources needed for national development and expressed hope for labor support from the Tri-Forces for the construction and modernization projects.
