The Colombo Traffic Division has announced that a special traffic management plan will be implemented in Colombo during the period of the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup cricket tournament.
According to the police, the traffic plan will be in effect from tomorrow (7) until March 8, coinciding with the days on which matches are scheduled to be played. The plan will focus mainly on areas surrounding the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium in Maligawatta and the SSC Cricket Grounds in Kurunduwatta.
A large number of local and foreign spectators are expected to attend the matches held at these venues. As a result, the Colombo Traffic Division has planned to enforce this special traffic arrangement on match days to ensure smooth traffic flow and public safety.
Motorists are advised to be attentive to traffic instructions and consider using alternative routes during match hours.
