As Sri Lanka marks its 78th Independence Day today (04), Britain’s King Charles III has conveyed a special message of congratulations to the President of Sri Lanka and the people of the country.

In a letter issued through the British High Commission in Colombo, King Charles III extended his “warmest wishes” to Sri Lanka, highlighting the long-standing partnership and deep historical ties shared between the United Kingdom and Sri Lanka. He also commended the significant contribution made by the Sri Lankan community living in the UK and underscored the continued cooperation between the two nations in areas such as education, trade and other fields.

Meanwhile, His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of the Kingdom of Bahrain has also sent a congratulatory message to President Anura Kumara Dissanayake on the occasion of Sri Lanka’s National Independence Day, conveying his best wishes to the government and people of Sri Lanka.
