Under the supervision of Veterinary Officer Pramuditha Devasurendra, several sick and displaced wild animals that were rehabilitated at the Attidiya Wildlife Detention Center in the Western Province were released back into their natural habitat on the 30th.

The release took place in the Kivul Wewa area, located in Zone No. 06 of Yala National Park. Among the animals reintroduced to the wild were three lynxes, a tortoise, 11 star tortoises, and four cobras.

Authorities emphasized that such efforts are part of ongoing initiatives to protect and preserve Sri Lanka’s wildlife while ensuring the safe reintegration of rescued animals into the wild.
