Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation General Limited (SLICGL) has approved special relief measures for school students affected by recent adverse weather conditions under the Suraksha Sisu Insurance Programme, following a request by the Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Training.
The relief will apply to claims submitted by students impacted by natural disasters such as floods and cyclones that occurred between November 26 and December 31, 2025. Only claims related to incidents during this period will be considered under the special arrangement.
In cases where students have lost their parents or legal guardians as a result of a disaster, benefit payments will be made without applying income limits, subject to the submission of documents confirming the loss.
