The National Council for Road Safety has announced plans to implement updated road speed limits across the country before March 31.
Council Chairman Manjula Kularatne said the work is in its final stages and will be carried out with careful consideration. He added that the updates will accurately identify roads where speed limits need to be increased or reduced, ensuring that necessary provisions are applied appropriately.
The Council emphasized that the revisions aim to improve road safety while maintaining smooth traffic flow, aligning with national efforts to reduce accidents and enhance transportation efficiency.
