Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) is ringing in the 2026 New Year with an exciting addition to its airline network. Beijing Capital Airlines will commence operations at BIA on 31 January 2026, providing direct flights between Sri Lanka and China.
The airline will operate twice-weekly services every Tuesday and Saturday from Beijing Daxing International Airport, offering enhanced connectivity for both business and leisure travelers.
Officials at BIA welcomed the move, noting that the partnership with Beijing Capital Airlines will strengthen international ties, expand travel options, and boost tourism and trade links between Sri Lanka and China.
