The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) has called for continued stakeholder support as its long-planned restructuring programme enters the final stage, underscoring the importance of sector reforms to the country’s future power needs.
Issuing a statement, CEB Deputy General Manager Noel Priyantha said the restructuring process was shaped through extensive consultations across the electricity sector, with particular focus on engagement with CEB employees and trade unions.
He said employee concerns, including welfare-related issues and demands raised during discussions, were examined in detail and that all possible matters had been addressed as the process moved forward.
Against this backdrop, the CEB expressed confidence that the LANDA administration will continue to receive the backing of employees, consumers and especially trade unions to complete the restructuring, noting that strengthening the electricity sector remains a national priority.
