A delegation from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) is scheduled to arrive in Sri Lanka today (22) to assess the damage caused by Cyclone Ditwah and to hold discussions with the relevant authorities.
According to the IMF, the delegation will remain in the country until the 28th. During the visit, officials are expected to study how Sri Lanka has addressed the economic and humanitarian challenges arising from the cyclone, with particular focus on its impact on infrastructure, livelihoods and overall economic stability.
Meanwhile, the fifth review under the IMF’s Comprehensive Fund Facility for Sri Lanka has been completed. It is reported that the delegation will also consider approving the review during the course of its visit.
