Sri Lanka Police has extended its sincere appreciation to the Government of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), which in 2024 and 2025 facilitated the deportation of eleven wanted suspects to Sri Lanka, demonstrating its steadfast cooperation in addressing transnational crimes.
Continuing this strong collaboration, three wanted suspects were successfully deported to Sri Lanka on 15 January 2026 through close coordination and effective collaboration between Sri Lanka Police and UAE authorities.
Sri Lanka Police stated that the operation reflects the strong and longstanding partnership between the two countries and underscores their shared commitment to upholding the rule of law and enhancing regional and international security.
The Police highly commended the professionalism, efficiency, and proactive assistance demonstrated by the UAE Government and its relevant authorities and expressed gratitude for the continued support, while reaffirming its commitment to further strengthening this trusted partnership in the collective effort to combat transnational crime and ensure justice and public safety.
