An email warning of a bomb threat was received by the Badulla District Labour Office this morning (14), prompting immediate precautionary measures.
Badulla District Assistant Labour Commissioner Ms. Sujatha Kumari said the message was received at around 9.24 a.m. via the official email address, claiming that a bomb had been placed within the office premises and instructing staff to evacuate the building.
Following the alert, steps were taken to inform the Badulla Headquarters Police Station and the Colombo-based Department of Labour. Necessary security procedures were initiated in coordination with the relevant authorities.
