The government has expressed its readiness to debate the no-confidence motion to be brought by opposition Members of Parliament against Prime Minister and Minister of Education Dr. Harini Amarasuriya in Parliament on January 22 and 23.
Cabinet Spokesman Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa made this statement while addressing the media at today’s (13) Cabinet press briefing.
He said the proposed debate would provide an important opportunity to clarify several matters regarding the education reforms implemented so far, as well as the government’s future plans for the education sector.
Dr. Jayatissa emphasized that the government is confident in presenting facts and addressing concerns raised by the opposition during the parliamentary debate.
