A collision between a lorry and a bus occurred this morning (13) on the Southern Expressway between the Kurundugahahetekma and Welipenna entry points, causing heavy traffic congestion in the direction of Matara.
The accident led to a temporary traffic buildup as vehicles slowed and movement was restricted along the affected stretch.
The Southern Expressway Control Centre confirmed that no injuries were reported in the incident and that traffic flow has since returned to normal after the vehicles were cleared from the road.
