President Anura Kumara Dissanayake said opposition to education reforms is expected, similar to resistance faced during the introduction of free education in the past.
He highlighted that the reforms are aimed at providing rural children with a brighter future and assured that the Government is open to discussion while remaining committed to building a compassionate, humane and value-based education system.
