The Ministry of Environment has directed the Central Environment Authority (CEA) to take immediate action to stop all construction activities within the Ambuluwawa Mountain region and its designated environmental zone.
The Ministry has also proposed the appointment of an expert committee to investigate issues related to development activities in the area.
Meanwhile, in line with the Ministry’s instructions, a team of CEA officials, accompanied by journalists and social activists involved in reporting on the issue, is scheduled to conduct a field inspection to observe and assess the current condition of the Ambuluwawa environmental zone
