Turkish Airlines has introduced its state-of-the-art Airbus A350-900 aircraft on the Istanbul–Colombo route, marking a major upgrade in services, Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) announced.
The deployment of the new wide-body aircraft significantly enhances passenger comfort, operational efficiency, and overall service quality on the vital air link connecting Sri Lanka with Türkiye and onward destinations.
Welcoming the upgrade, BIA stated that the introduction of the A350-900 signals “a new chapter of seamless travel and world-class service” for travelers using the Colombo–Istanbul route.
Equipped with advanced aviation technology, improved fuel efficiency, and a superior onboard experience, the Airbus A350-900 further strengthens air connectivity between Colombo and Istanbul, while reinforcing Sri Lanka’s standing as an important aviation hub in the region.
