The Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) has conducted a record 1,540 consumer awareness programs in 2025, marking the highest number of such initiatives carried out in a single year in the Authority’s history.
Through these island-wide programs, CAA officials directly engaged with over 120,000 members of the public, providing education on consumer rights, fair trade practices, and responsible business conduct across all districts of Sri Lanka.
In addition to field programs, the Authority continued its awareness efforts through electronic, digital, and print media, reaching a vast audience nationwide. The cumulative reach of these media campaigns is considered extensive and ongoing.
Building on the success of its 2025 initiatives, the Consumer Affairs Authority has announced plans to further expand awareness programs in 2026, with a special focus on the general public, schoolchildren, and the business community, aiming to strengthen consumer protection and promote fair market practices across the country.
