Opposition Chief Organizer MP Gayantha Karunathilaka said that the opposition has decided to bring a no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya over the controversy surrounding the Grade 6 English module introduced as part of the ongoing education reforms.

He said the process of obtaining signatures from opposition Members of Parliament for the no-confidence motion is scheduled to commence this morning at the Parliament complex.

According to MP Karunathilaka, a meeting of leaders and representatives of opposition parties will also be held this morning under the patronage of Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa, during which the no-confidence motion is expected to be signed.

He further stated that a meeting of opposition party leaders was held in Parliament yesterday, where a final agreement was reached to proceed with the no-confidence motion against the Prime Minister.
