The Department of Examinations has announced that coaching and tuition classes targeting the 2025 GCE Advanced Level (A/L) Examinations will be prohibited from midnight tomorrow (6).
Examinations Commissioner General A.K.S. Indika Kumari Liyanage stated that organising or conducting subject-focused lectures, seminars, or classes, as well as printing or distributing examination-oriented question papers, will be strictly banned during this period. She also warned that publicity through electronic media, posters, or banners claiming to provide likely or similar examination questions within five days prior to the exams is prohibited.
The remaining 2025 GCE A/L subjects are scheduled to be held from January 12 to 20 at 2,362 examination centres nationwide.
The Commissioner General cautioned that legal action will be taken against any individual or institution that violates these regulations. Members of the public can report violations to the nearest Police Station, the Department of Examinations, or through the following numbers:
