Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism, Vijitha Herath said that Sri Lanka earned a total of US$11 billion from the foreign employment and tourism sectors by 2025.

Speaking at a media briefing at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs this morning (5 January), the Minister said that foreign remittances contributed over US$7 billion, while the tourism sector generated US$3.2 billion in revenue.

Minister Herath also highlighted that nearly Rs. 85 billion in donations has been received from foreign countries and Sri Lankans living abroad, taking into account support provided in response to the impact of Cyclone Ditwah.
