An accident occurred in the Tholangamuwa area of Warakapola along the Colombo–Kandy road when a three-wheeler collided with a bus, police said.
The driver of the three-wheeler sustained serious injuries and was admitted to hospital, while a child who was travelling in the vehicle suffered minor injuries. The three-wheeler was being driven by the father of the child, and both were admitted to the Warakapola Base Hospital for treatment.
The bus driver has been arrested in connection with the incident. Warakapola Police stated that reckless driving by the bus driver was the cause of the accident. Further investigations are underway.
