Sri Lanka Police have sought public assistance to identify a suspect connected to a shooting incident in the Kohuwala area that left one person critically injured.
Police said the incident occurred on December 30, 2025, in the Godiyawatta area within the Kohuwala Police Division. According to initial investigations, two unidentified individuals arrived on a motorcycle and opened fire at a victim before fleeing the scene.
The injured individual sustained serious gunshot wounds and was admitted to hospital for treatment. Police stated that further investigations into the incident are currently underway.
As part of the ongoing inquiry, police have identified one suspect and prepared a facial sketch with the assistance of a police artist. The sketch has been released to the media in an effort to obtain public assistance in identifying the suspect.
