The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the appointment of S. Achchudan as the Director General of the Sports Development Department.
Mr. Achchudan, a Special Grade officer of the Sri Lanka Administrative Service and currently serving as an Additional Commissioner of Elections at the Elections Commission, was recommended for the post by the interview panel.
His appointment will take effect from January 1, 2026.
Applications have been called to recruit a candidate to the post and Mr. Achchudan was selected following the interview in which 06 candidates participated.
