The impact of Cyclone Ditwah has resulted in losses amounting to nearly Rs. 21 billion to Sri Lanka’s health sector, according to Minister of Health and Mass Media Nalinda Jayatissa.

The Minister stated that extensive damage caused by the cyclone has affected several health institutions across the country, with eight facilities, including hospitals, requiring complete replacement.

Minister Nalinda Jayatissa made these remarks while attending a ceremony to present letters of appointment at the Ministry of Health and Mass Media.

He further emphasized that steps are being taken to restore affected health services and ensure uninterrupted healthcare delivery to the public.
