Minister of Health and Mass Media, Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa, stated that television broadcasting licenses issued by the Ministry of Mass Media are granted subject to specific conditions and can be revoked at any time if those conditions are violated.
The Minister made these remarks while addressing the Health Communicators Appreciation Ceremony – 2025, organized by the Health Promotion Bureau, held today (29). The event was conducted to recognize journalists who have contributed to promoting health awareness and disseminating health-related information among the public.
Dr. Jayatissa further emphasized that the broadcasting licenses issued to television channels are temporary in nature, and strict action will be taken against any channel that fails to comply with the stipulated conditions.
