Vegetable prices in markets across the country continue to remain at high levels due to the severe impact of Cyclone Ditwah on vegetable cultivation.
Our correspondents observed that in several areas, a kilogram of raw chilli is being sold at retail prices of around Rs. 2,000, while a kilogram of fish chilli is priced at about Rs. 1,300.
Meanwhile, the prices of most other vegetables have also increased significantly, with a kilogram selling in the range of Rs. 500 to Rs. 1,000, causing further strain on household budgets.
