The National Building Research Organisation (NBRO) has issued a special notice to the public traveling through the Lower Kadugannawa area along the Colombo–Kandy main road.
Following recent landslides in the area, the road has been reopened temporarily after implementing short-term remedial measures. However, authorities caution that the route remains vulnerable, especially during periods of heavy rainfall.
Motorists and commuters are advised to exercise extreme caution when using this section of the road, adhere strictly to traffic instructions, and avoid unnecessary travel during adverse weather conditions. Heavy vehicles have also been urged to limit movement through the area until permanent stabilization measures are completed.
