Inmates in all prisons across the island have been granted a special opportunity to meet visitors today (25) in view of Christmas Day, prison authorities announced.
Prison Media Spokesperson and Prison Commissioner Jagath Weerasinghe stated that this special arrangement has been made to allow inmates to spend time with their loved ones during the festive season.
He further advised visitors arriving at prisons today to bring food or sweets sufficient for only one inmate, in accordance with existing prison regulations.
Prison authorities also urged visitors to strictly comply with security guidelines and instructions issued by prison officials to ensure smooth and orderly visiting arrangements during the special visiting hours.
