Colombo Fort Police arrested MP Archchuna today following a warrant issued by the Fort Magistrate’s Court.
Magistrate Isuru Nettikumarage yesterday issued the warrant after Archchuna failed to appear in Court for a case regarding alleged interference with a police officer’s duties.
Archchuna had previously been charged with obstructing a police officer attached to the Fort Police Station and violating the Motor Traffic Act. He was taken into custody by police and is expected to be produced before the Court.
The Court has also ordered relevant television media outlets to provide unedited video footage of the incident from the location where it occurred.
