A prison officer attached to the Boossa Prison has been taken into custody in connection with lastan incident in which a group of inmates assaulted the prison superintendent, according to the Police Special Task Force.
The officer has been arrested on allegations of neglecting official duties and abetting damage to government property.
The incident occurred on December 7, when a group of inmates staged a protest against their transfer to another prison. During the unrest, the prison superintendent was attacked and sustained injuries.
Further investigations into the incident are ongoing.
