NBRO extends landslide warnings for several areas across Sri Lanka

The National Building Research Organisation (NBRO) has extended the landslide early warning notices issued for several parts of the island.

According to the NBRO, the warnings will be in effect from 8.00 a.m. today (19) until 8.00 a.m. tomorrow (20).

Accordingly, Level 3 (Red) landslide early warnings have been issued for the Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts.

Meanwhile, Level 2 landslide warnings have been issued for the Badulla, Kurunegala, and Matale districts.

The NBRO has urged residents in the affected areas to remain highly vigilant and take necessary precautions in view of the prevailing conditions.
