The Engineer-in-Charge of the Moragahakanda-Kalugaga project has announced that sluice gate number 3 of the Moragahakanda Reservoir will be opened by 0.5 meters tonight.
Beginning at 9.45 PM, approximately 1,500 cubic feet per second of water will be released into the Amban River in a phased manner.
Authorities have advised downstream communities to remain cautious and stay alert to rising water levels.
