Dasun Shanaka will continue as captain of the Sri Lankan T20 team until the 2026 ICC Twenty20 World Cup, Sri Lanka Cricket’s newly appointed Selection Committee Chairman, Pramodya Wickremesinghe said.
He made the announcement at a media conference held at the Sri Lanka Cricket Institute following the appointment of the new selection committee.
Wickremesinghe said the previous selection committee had already named a 25-member squad for upcoming T20 commitments, and the current committee has decided not to make any changes to that squad.
Accordingly, Dasun Shanaka will continue to lead Sri Lanka in the forthcoming T20 series against Pakistan and England.
