Traffic along the Passara–Madolsima–Matigahatenna road was disrupted this morning (19) following a landslide in the 25th Kanuwa Akiriya area, Madolsima Police said.
The landslide occurred due to continuous heavy rainfall, blocking a section of the road and affecting vehicular movement.
Speaking on the situation, Badulla Road Development Authority Executive Engineer S.S. Hennayake said the area has experienced landslides on several previous occasions, especially during periods of intense rain.
He added that steps are currently being taken to clear the debris and repair the damaged section of the road to restore normal traffic as soon as possible.Do you like this personality?
