The Colombo High Court today fixed the case filed against Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa over the alleged Krrish deal for hearing on February 16.

The matter was taken up before Colombo High Court Judge Nadee Aparna Suwandurugoda, during which the prosecution handed over several documents to the defence. These documents had been requested at a previous hearing to ensure a fair trial.

The Attorney General has filed indictments against Namal Rajapaksa, alleging the misappropriation of Rs. 70 million provided by Indian real estate company Krrish Lanka Pvt. Ltd. for the development of rugby in Sri Lanka.

According to the prosecution, Krrish Lanka Pvt. Ltd. had allocated the funds specifically for rugby development, and it is alleged that the money was misused.

The case will be taken up again before the Colombo High Court on February 16.
