The Disaster Management Centre (DMC) has announced that the road leading to the Somawathiya Sacred Site has been closed to vehicular traffic until further notice.
The decision was taken in view of the prevailing adverse weather conditions and the risk of the access road being submerged due to rising water levels. Authorities have urged the public and devotees to refrain from using the route and to follow official updates for further instructions.
