The Department of Irrigation has announced that the sluice gates of the Kaudulla Reservoir opened (16).
According to the Department, a discharge of approximately 500 cubic feet per second will be released into the Kaudulu Oya as part of the operation.
The Department of Irrigation emphasized that the release is not expected to cause flooding. However, people living in low-lying areas and those using downstream lands are advised to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions.
