Sri Lanka’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations in Geneva, Himalee Arunatilaka, who is concurrently accredited to the Holy See, presented her credentials to His Holiness Pope Leo XIV at a formal ceremony held at the Apostolic Palace in the Vatican

According to the Embassy of Sri Lanka to the Holy See in Geneva, the ceremony was attended by senior Vatican officials and marked the presentation of credentials by several non-resident Ambassadors accredited to the Holy See.

Alongside Sri Lanka, non-resident Ambassadors from Uzbekistan, Moldova, Bahrain, Pakistan, Liberia, Thailand, Lesotho, South Africa, Fiji, Micronesia, Latvia, and Finland also presented their credentials during the event.

The presentation of credentials formally establishes Ambassador Arunatilaka’s role in strengthening diplomatic relations between Sri Lanka and the Holy See, promoting dialogue and cooperation on matters of mutual interest at the international level.
