D.S. de Silva, the leg-spinner who featured in Sri Lanka’s maiden Test match in 1982, has died at the age of 83, his family said. He passed away in London.
De Silva was a member of Sri Lanka’s first-ever Test team and captained the national side in two Test matches. He also served as Chairman of Sri Lanka Cricket from 2009 to 2011.
