Following a request made by the Minister of Health and Mass Media, the Government of India has donated 17 types of essential medicines to Sri Lanka.
The donation has been provided with the objective of strengthening the country’s healthcare services, particularly at a time when there is an increased demand for essential pharmaceuticals. Health authorities stated that the medicines will be distributed to government hospitals and medical institutions across the island based on priority needs.

Officials expressed appreciation to the Indian Government for its continued support, noting that the assistance will help ensure uninterrupted treatment for patients and ease pressure on the national healthcare system.
