Sri Lanka’s Disaster Management Center (DMC) said that 4,517 houses have been completely destroyed across the island due to the ongoing disaster situation.
According to the latest report, an additional 76,066 houses have suffered partial damage. The Kandy district has been the worst affected, with 1,800 houses completely destroyed and 13,044 partially damaged.
Puttalam follows with 573 completely destroyed homes, while Kurunegala reports 480 houses lost. Other heavily affected districts include Kegalle, with 11,575 partially damaged houses, Ratnapura with 7,869, Badulla with 7,291, and Gampaha with 5,200.
