The Maldives High Commissioner, Masood Imad, has officially handed over a donation of US$ 50,000 and US$ 1.2 million worth of tuna to Minister Vijitha Herath to assist communities affected by the recent adverse weather conditions in Sri Lanka.
In addition, the High Commissioner also presented USD 2,447,011 raised through the “CeylonaaEkuDiveheen” campaign, an initiative launched by the Maldives’ Public Service Media (PSM) in partnership with private media organisations.
Expressing gratitude, Minister Vijitha Herath said the contribution reflects the strong and enduring friendship between the two countries. “We deeply appreciate the remarkable cooperation extended by the people of the Maldives towards Sri Lanka,” he stated.
