The historic Somawathiya sacred site has been reopened after being submerged under a massive flood following the recent adverse weather conditions, our correspondent reports.
According to reports, both main access routes leading to the sacred site have now been fully cleared of any flood risk, allowing devotees to safely visit from this morning (07).
All religious activities at the sacred premises are currently being carried out as usual.
