Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya says Sri Lanka is recovering faster than expected from the recent devastation caused by severe flooding and landslides, crediting the “exceptional strength and solidarity” of the public.
“We have taken a blow, but we are far from fallen. Our people have shown remarkable resilience, and that spirit has carried us through every crisis we have faced,” she said while addressing the visiting NASSCOM Executive Committee and SLASSCOM leaders on December 4 at the ICT Rathnadeepa Hotel in Colombo.
She added that the government is working closely with the World Bank and the United Nations to conduct assessments that will guide reconstruction, resettlement, improved disaster preparedness, and major infrastructure restoration.
