The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) said that approximately 86% of the electricity supply disrupted by recent adverse weather conditions has now been restored.
Deputy General Manager Noel Priyantha said around 3.9 million of the country’s 7.3 million electricity consumers experienced outages during the severe weather.
He noted that CEB staff have been working tirelessly over the past several days to restore services, adding that a full restoration of the power supply is expected soon.
