The Colombo–Kandy main road has been closed from the Yakkala area for the next 15 hours due to a section near the Yakkala Ayurveda area caving in, the Disaster Management Centre announced.
Authorities warn of a possible further collapse, prompting the temporary road closure. Motorists are advised to use alternative routes at Yakkala until repairs are completed.
