The Police Headquarters has issued a warning urging the public to stay away from roads, bridges, and other areas damaged by the severe weather conditions experienced across the island.

According to the statement, the Road Development Authority (RDA) has already begun urgent reconstruction work to restore infrastructure that was destroyed or heavily impacted by flooding and landslides. Authorities noted that large numbers of people have been gathering near damaged sites, creating significant safety risks.

Police stressed that these locations remain highly unstable and dangerous, and unnecessary visits could lead to accidents or hinder ongoing restoration and rescue operations.
