All 33 individuals who were stranded in the Giribawa area of Rajanganaya due to sudden flooding have been successfully rescued by the Sri Lanka Air Force.

According to the Air Force, a Mi-17 helicopter was deployed for the rescue mission amid challenging weather conditions. The rescued individuals were safely airlifted and flown to the Air Force camp in Anuradhapura.

Air Force officials stated that continuous adverse weather had made ground rescue operations difficult, prompting the urgent aerial evacuation.
