Hanwella town is currently facing severe flooding, prompting authorities to restrict all entrance roads, the Disaster Management Centre (DMC) confirmed.
The DMC reported that the water level has risen to 10 feet due to an increase in the Kelani River, making travel to the area unsafe.
Residents and travelers have been urged to avoid the affected routes until floodwaters recede and conditions return to safe levels.
